On Thursday 29th December I attended a talk at The Royal Geographic Society hosted by Liz Bonnin which was a follow up to the programme of the same name Drowning in Plastic. The panel hosted by Liz consisted of Professor Richard Thompson, Dr Stephanie Wright, David Newman and Sian Sutherland.
I have summarised the main points made in the below figures. Interesting topics were raised and some of this I indeed to discuss in the coming few weeks, so stay tuned!
You can watch the live stream here.

Hi Larissa, thank you for your comment!
There was certainly a lot covered over the evening and I think there was more that they wanted to discuss but they ran out of time!
One of the main thoughts that I took away from the evening was that blame is being pushed onto lots of different people yet it seems only a few people are taking action about it. We as the consumer can make a big impact by essentially kicking up a fuss in supermarkets and to large corporations as they are the ones that control what is available for us to buy. The point was made that it is also vital for us to keep the conversation going ove…
Hi Elizabeth,
Wow!! That's amazing you got to attend this! Clearly a lot was covered over the course of the talk. What's your biggest takeaway?
